Our Turf
Grass Mix
Over the last 34 years we at Evergreen Turf have experimented with a variety of turf grass mixes, finallly settling on a blend that is truly suitable for the interior of BC. We use a selection of Kentucky Blue Grasses and a selection of Fescues that work well together in not only domestic lawns but in commercial installations as well.
Organic Turf
For ecology minded individuals who want to reduce their impact on the environment we have also developed a blend of clover and turf grass that has not been fertilized with any commercial chemical fertilizer or been sprayed with any herbicides. We grow this type of lawn grass on a portion of our farm which is registerd in a certified organic program.
The turf seed mix is the same as our regular turf with the addition of a dwarf leaf white clover that produces nitrogen naturally. Developed in Denmark, DLF - Trifolium has been used in commercial and residential settings for a number of years.
Amongst the benefits of ECO-turf is the reduction of watering and the retention of colour throughout the year. It greens up early in the spring and stays green throughout the fall. Custom Cut Turf
In 2008 we invested in a new automated Turf Harvester. We've held on to the old manual stack harvester for those days when we are busy enough that we need to run two machines and in the winter of 2011 we aquired a 'BIG ROLL' system' Both the automated harvester and the manual harvester cut turf rolls 16 inches wide and about 80 inches long, while the BIG ROLL cuts rolls of turf 24 inches wide and 100ft long.
